Beginning Wheel: Fundamentals of Throwing
Join Kate for eight fun-filled weeks of learning the basics of throwing on the potter's wheel. From the foundational acts of wedging and centering clay, students will gain the knowledge to create cylinders, mugs, bowls, and vases on the wheel. Each class begins with a demonstration and moves to one-on-one attention. Students will learn how to trim pots and pull and attach handles to mugs and bowls. The last class session is reserved for glazing our finished pieces. This class is intended for students who are new to the potter's wheel or have minimal experience. It can also be a great refresher for those who haven’t had their hands in clay since high school.
