STUDIO DETAILS
Indian River Clay is more than a pottery studio—it’s a thriving community where creativity takes shape, friendships form, and art comes to life. As a non-profit, we are dedicated to making the joy of clay accessible to all, providing an inspiring space where beginners and experienced artists alike can learn, grow, and connect.
After outgrowing our small rented space in South Vero Beach, we moved in 2020 to our spacious 4,000-square-foot studio at 1239 16th Street, Vero Beach. This well-equipped, accessible location offers greater visibility and room for our growing tri-county community. Designed to foster creativity and collaboration, our studio provides everything artists need to explore their craft in a supportive and welcoming environment.
The studio is equipped with multiple electric wheels, that are fired almost daily. In our outdoor, alternative firing area, we have a large, gas-fired kiln, raku kilns, and a permanent pit, for pit-firings. We fire bisque to cone 04, and glaze to cone 6, both for oxidation and reduction. We currently have 15 wheels, two slab rollers, two extruders, cone 6 dipping glazes as well as raku glazes. Membership comes with a storage shelf, for each member. We stock multiple types of cone 5/6 stoneware clays, and members can order additional types, through the clay committee.
Whether you take a class, become a member, volunteer, or donate, you play a vital role in helping us bring art, education, and connection to more people. Join us and be part of something truly creative and meaningful. Together, we’re shaping more than clay—we’re shaping lives.
