Exploring Alternative Surfaces on Clay
In this master workshop participants will use a variety of ceramic materials to enhance the surface of the clay. Following demonstrations and lectures, participants will apply terra sigilatta, thick and thin ball clay slips, mason stains, oxides, underglaze and gold leaf. Methods of application include brushes, palette knife, dipping, and spraying. Participants will make at least three colored sigillatas (materials provided). Students should bring two finished greenware pieces, either vessel or sculptural
