IRC classes are designed for adults and participants must be18 or olderto participate.​ Minors are not allowed in the studio due to safety precautions.

DEADLINE TO PICK UP COMPLETED CLASS PIECES IS 2 MONTHS FROM THE LAST CLASS DATE. ANY UNCLAIMED PIECES WILL BE DONATED TO THE STUDIO OR DISCARDED. PLEASE CONTACT THE STUDIO IF YOU NEED TO MAKE ALTERNATE ARRANGEMENTS BEYOND THE DEADLINE.

For cancellations more than 14 DAYS before the first class day, a refund less 15% handling charge will be issued. For cancellations within 14 days before the start of class, class cost will be forfeited unless the space is resold. If the space is resold, a refund less 15% will be issued. We are unable to offer credits for future classes.

Throwing Skills Intensive - Making taller, wider forms and pulled handles

This is a 4-week intensive skill-boosting workshop designed to expand participants' range in making taller and wider forms on the potters' wheel. Although participants are encouraged to work with larger amounts of clay, the techniques demonstrated in this workshop (the football method, the rib pull, and pulled handles) are designed to get the most out of the clay regardless of the amount.

Skill level: Intermediate

Cost: $150

Materials Fee: $30 per bag of clay (cash/check made payable to Indian River Clay)

Class Dates: Tuesdays, May 12, 19 & 26, Glazing June 9

Time: 2pm - 5pm

Length of Class:  4 sessions/3 hours each

 

Materials To Bring:  Standard wheel tools (rib, needle tool, sponge), bats, and calipers - ruler optional, sketchbook advised
