I have many years of experience with several non-profit organizations. I served on the
board of the West Tennessee Hunter Jumper Association for many years. When that
association decided to become a not-for-profit entity, I was one of the members that
gathered info and regulatory details for the formation of their 501(c)(3) status. Once I was
hired and paid to manage the association's horse shows, I was no longer eligible to be a
board member but attended all board meetings as an advisor. I worked for them for 11
years as their manager and through that position was involved routinely with details
regarding keeping their non-profit status intact. This included record keeping, accounting
and the formation of committees etc.

As a member of the horse show management team for another 501(c)(3) organization, I
have been involved in that entity's premier event for the last 25 years. My duties there
include, but are not limited to pre-show preparation of all organizational materials,
handling the competition office for exhibitor care and payments/collections as well as
dealing with hiring nationally ranked judges and other officials.
At the horse shows, as manager I have a team of people under me supporting all aspects of the events. Sometimes keeping things running smoothly can feel like herding cats but the successful daily production of the show has always been very rewarding. The building and managing of those teams is something that I take great pride in doing well.
I am partnered at home with a financial expert who worked as the VP of finance for a large
banking institution for many years in Memphis. He has always been incredibly helpful to
me with any questions (and work) of a financial nature for both of these organizations.
