Carmen Martens is a dedicated board member of Indian River Clay, where she serves as the liaison for the outreach committee. With a passion for ceramics and community engagement, Carmen plays a vital role in expanding the organization’s reach and ensuring that the joy of working with clay is accessible to all.
Originally from Venezuela, Carmen has traveled extensively and lived in various parts of the world, experiences that have shaped her deep appreciation for art and culture. Her journey with ceramics began in 2020, when she took her first pottery classes and quickly fell in love with the medium. Since then, she has studied under talented artists and immersed herself in the local ceramics community.
With a background in event organization, cultural exchange, and holistic therapies, Carmen brings a unique perspective to Indian River Clay. She is committed to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment where creativity can thrive. Her work with the outreach committee focuses on building meaningful connections and expanding opportunities for artistic expression within the community.
