Judy Loy Lafountain

Artist Member

Judy was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to a Peruvian mother and a Chinese father. She moved to Vero Beach from West Palm Beach in June 2021. A Navy veteran, she retired from the VA Medical Center after 25 years of federal service—21 years as a Medical Laboratory Scientist and four years as an aviation electronics technician.

For much of her life, Judy's work was analytical, methodical, and logical. Now, she embraces her creative side, exploring various artistic mediums, including resin pouring, furniture painting with chalk paint, paint pouring, and crafting planters from Portland cement. She continues to refine her skills at Indian River Clay, where working with clay has become a meditative and healing practice.

Indian River Clay has become her second home—a place of creativity, connection, and community. Surrounded by kind, generous, and talented artists, Judy has found a space where she feels like family.
