Beginning & Intermediate
Join Kate for a fun-filled 8 weeks of learning the basics of throwing on the potter's wheel. From the foundational acts of wedging and centering clay, students will gain the knowledge to create cylinders, mugs, bowls, and vases on the wheel. Each class begins with a demonstration and moves to one-on-one attention. Students will learn how to trim pots and pull and attach handles to mugs and bowls. Intermediate students will continue to refine their shapes and learn new skills. The last class session is reserved for glazing our finished pieces. This class is intended for students who are new to the potters wheel, or have minimal experience. It can serve as a great refresher for those who haven’t had their hands in clay since high school.
