Clay Clock Class
Design and create a fully functional ceramic clock using slab-building techniques. This intermediate-level class is perfect for those with prior clay experience who want to refine their handbuilding and surface design skills while crafting a distinctive, working timepiece.

Session 1: Construct the clock body using slab construction. Explore advanced design elements, textures, and structural considerations.

Session 2: Glaze your bisque-fired clock, focusing on color layering and surface enhancement techniques.

Session 3: Install the clock mechanism and participate in a group “show and tell” of completed clocks.
Two sessions, three hours each. Third session one hour.

Clay Skills To Be Learned: slab construction, the basics of clock building
Materials To Bring: three slabs minimum, each about 15” square (no smaller), soft leather hard, and between ½” and ⅜”, no thinner. Favorite clay tools. Basic tools will be provided. Various stamps will be available. The Studio has a nice selection of texture rollers for more surface considerations but if you have favorite texture tools feel free to bring. Extra clay to roll more slabs if needed.
