Mold Making Made Easy

In this fun hands-on workshop, artist Nancy Blair will demonstrate the art of creating reusable molds from non-toxic silicone without the fuss of plaster. Students will make open-faced, press molds from 3-5 objects they bring from home (seashells, costume jewelry, basically any decorative item with texture that you want to replicate) transforming items into detailed clay positives that can be attached to vessels, sculptures, or other ceramic forms. This workshop emphasizes accessibility, creativity, and adaptability, replicating textures and shapes anywhere. Whether you’re a seasoned ceramicist or a curious beginner, this workshop makes mold-making approachable, expressive, and fun. Come ready to press, play, and create!
